The Fire Department is authorized to coordinate the response
of the city in the enforcement of laws, rules, and regulations relating
to the storage, use, handling and transportation of hazardous materials.

The Fire Department through and by the Fire Chief, is hereby
authorized to command all incidents involving the discharge of hazardous
materials whether located on public or private property.

Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to assume responsibility
by the city of enforcement activities related to hazardous materials
assigned by law to county, state or federal agencies.
