The office of the City Clerk is created and established. The
City Clerk is appointed by the City Council on the basis of ability
and qualifications and holds office for and during the pleasure of
the City Council.

The City Clerk administers elections, maintains the official
records of the proceedings of the City Council, serves as the compliance
officer for Federal, State and local statutes, serves as the custodian
of the City seal, and performs other duties as required by the City
Council.

The City Clerk will receive compensation and benefits as the
City Council determines from time to time.
