In accordance with the procedure designated in Section 50001,
et seq., of the
Government Code of the State of California, there
is hereby adopted by reference as the Health Code of the City of Inglewood,
the "Public Health Code of the County of Los Angeles," as adopted
by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles on August
25, 1959, and also entitled "Ordinance No. 7583," together with all
amendments thereof or supplementary thereto adopted to date.
The City of Inglewood hereby adopts and incorporates by reference
in their entirety the provisions of the Los Angeles County Ordinance
No. 97-0071, which was effective on January 16, 1998 together with
all subsequent amendments thereof that requires the posting of food
establishment inspection grades and the certification of food handlers
in the City of Inglewood.

The City of Inglewood hereby adopts and incorporates by reference
in their entirety the provisions of the Los Angeles County Ordinance
No. 98-0037, which was effective on August 7, 1998 together with all
subsequent amendments thereof that allows for owner initiated inspections
of a food facility and amends the fee schedule for various County
health inspections and services.

For the purposes of this Chapter, "food establishment" shall
mean any business engaged in manufacturing, preparing, storing or
serving to the public any food or beverage for human consumption and
shall include, but not be limited to, restaurants, rooming houses,
boarding houses or lodging houses which serve food and/or beverages
to roomers, boarders or lodgers.
It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in the business
of operating a food establishment without a permit duly issued by
the Health Officer. The Health Officer may withhold the issuance of
such permit until the applicant has duly complied with the provisions
of this Article.
It shall be unlawful for any person to urinate or defecate in
or upon any street, sidewalk, parkway, playground, or any public place
or in any place open to the patronage of the public or exposed to
public view. This Section shall not apply to urination or defecation
which is done in any rest room or other facility designed for the
sanitary disposal of human waste.
