This chapter shall be known as the electrical code of the city of La Cañada Flintridge.

A. 
There is hereby adopted by reference, except as provided in this chapter, that certain electrical code known and designated as the Los Angeles County Electrical Code, Title 27 of the Los Angeles County Code, including all appendices, as adopted by the county of Los Angeles and in effect on January 1, 2023, incorporating the 2022 California Electrical Code, including all changes adopted by the county of Los Angeles and by the city of La Cañada Flintridge.
B. 
A copy of Title 33 of the Los Angeles County Code, which is referenced as the "2023 County of Los Angeles Electrical Code (Title 33)," is on file in the office of the city clerk for public record and inspection.
C. 
If there is any inconsistency between any provisions of Title 33 of the Los Angeles County Code and other provisions of this municipal code, such other provisions of this municipal code shall prevail.

Whenever any of the following names or terms are used in the Los Angeles County Electrical Code, each such name or term shall be deemed and construed to have the meaning ascribed to it in this section as follows:
"Board of supervisors"
means the city council of the city of La Cañada Flintridge.
"Building department"
means the building and safety division of the county of Los Angeles department of public works, acting for the city.
"Building official"
means the county of Los Angeles director of public works or designee.
"City"
means the city of La Cañada Flintridge.
"County," "county of Los Angeles" or "unincorporated territory of the county of Los Angeles"
means the city of La Cañada Flintridge.
"County engineer"
means the county engineer of the county of Los Angeles.
"Electrical code"
means Chapter 7.12 of this code.
"Existing building code"
means Chapter 7.10 of this code.
"Fire code"
means Chapter 4.01 of this code.
"Green building standards code"
means Chapter 7.31 of this code.
"Health code" or "Los Angeles County Health Code"
means Title 11 Health and Safety of the Los Angeles County Code.
"Mechanical code"
means Chapter 7.16 of this code.
"Planning and zoning code"
means Title 11 of this code.
"Plumbing code"
means Chapter 7.20 of this code.
"Residential code"
means Chapter 7.30 of this code.

The fee schedules adopted by Section 7.12.020 of this title may be amended by resolution adopted by the city council.
