There is hereby created within the County a Delinquency Prevention
Commission. The members of the Sacramento County Juvenile Justice
Commission are hereby appointed to serve, ex officio, as members of
the Delinquency Prevention Commission. The Chair and Vice Chair of
the Juvenile Justice Commission shall be the Chair and Vice Chair
of the Delinquency Prevention Commission.

The members of the Delinquency Prevention Commission shall serve
without compensation, but each member shall be reimbursed for his
or her necessary traveling and other expenses incurred in the performance
of his or her official duties.

The purpose of the Delinquency Prevention Commission is to coordinate
on a Countywide basis the work of its governmental and nongovernmental
organizations engaged in activities designed to prevent juvenile delinquency.

The Commission shall have the powers and authority necessary
to carry out the duties imposed upon it by this chapter and by State
law, including, but not limited to, the following:
1. To hold
hearings, make and sign any agreements and to do or perform any acts
which may be necessary, desirable or proper to carry out the purposes
of the Commission;
2. To request
from any department, division, board, commission or other agency of
this County such assistance and data as will enable it to properly
carry out its powers and purposes;
3. To accept
any gifts, donations or bequests, or any contributions from any public
or private source to carry out its purposes.

The Sacramento County Probation Department shall render all
necessary staff services to the Commission.

The Commission shall submit to the chairman of the Board of
Supervisors and to the presiding judge of the superior court not later
than February 15th of each year a report of its goals and activities
for the preceding calendar year.
