As used in this chapter, "firearm" means any device designed,
or capable of being used as a weapon from which is expelled any projectile
by the force of any explosion or other form of combustion.

As used in this chapter, "peace officer" means any person defined as a peace officer by Title
3, Chapter 4.5, commencing with Section 830, of the
Penal Code of the State of California.

It is unlawful for any person to discharge any firearm in or
upon any Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District building or
grounds located within the unincorporated territory of the County
of Sacramento.

Any Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District building
or grounds located within the unincorporated territory of the County
of Sacramento is a prohibited area within the meaning of Section 12031
of the
Penal Code of the State of California.

The prohibitions of this chapter shall not apply to:
a. Any
peace officer while acting within the course and scope of his or her
employment who is authorized by law to possess or carry a firearm
during such employment;
b. Any
agent or employee of Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District
who is authorized by said District and by law to possess or carry
a firearm during such agency or employment;
c. Any
lessee of Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District in and upon
the premises leased to such person under written agreement by and
between such person and said District, who is authorized by law to
possess or carry a firearm, unless otherwise prohibited by the terms
of such agreement.
