The office of city attorney is created. The city attorney shall have those duties specified by law, and as such shall:
A.
Advise all city officers and officials in all legal matters pertaining to the city;
B.
Defend and appear for the city in his or her official capacity;
C.
Frame all ordinances and resolutions and other legal documents required by the legislative body and as requested by the city council; and
D.
Perform other legal services as required from time to time by the city council.
