A. 
Los Angeles County Fire Code (Title 32 of the Los Angeles County Code), amending the 2022 California Fire Code and comprised of the 2021 International Fire Code as published by the International Code Council is hereby adopted by reference as the Fire Code of the City of Pico Rivera.
B. 
The same shall hereafter constitute the Fire Code of the city regulating the safeguarding of life, property and public welfare to a reasonable degree from the hazards of fire and explosion arising from the storage, use and handling of dangerous and hazardous materials, substances and devices; the operation, installation, construction, location, safeguarding and maintenance of attendant equipment within the jurisdiction of the Los Angeles County Fire Department, and providing for the issuance of permits and the collection of fees therefor, and providing penalties for the violation of such code.
C. 
At least two copies of the Los Angeles County Fire Code shall be kept on file in the office of the building official and shall be maintained by the building official for use and examination by the public.
D. 
In the event of any conflict or ambiguity between any provision contained in the Fire Code and any amendments or additions thereto contained in this chapter, the amendments or additions thereto shall control.
E. 
In the event of any conflict or ambiguity between any provision contained in the Fire Code and any other provisions of the Pico Rivera Municipal Code, the provisions of the Pico Rivera Municipal Code shall control.
