Where required pursuant to the provisions of Chapters 10 to 14, the installation of exterior lighting shall be the responsibility of the developer. Such lighting shall: be in compliance with the applicable provisions of the CDO and the Public Works Engineering Standards; be approved by the Public Works Director; and be placed on poles approved by the Public Works Director. Lighting for parking and loading facilities shall be in compliance with the requirements of Section 14.040 (Design requirements for parking and loading facilities). All electrical distribution facilities installed for the purpose of supplying electrical power to exterior lighting shall be placed underground.

Low hanging branches and trees which seriously impair the effectiveness of the lighting shall be trimmed to provide maximum lighting efficiency. Exterior lighting facilities shall be: located, with hoods provided and adjusted downward, so as to preclude the direct glare of the lights from shining directly onto adjoining property or streets or into the night sky; and deflected as not to shine into structures used as dwellings.
