Pursuant to Section 36503.5 of the
Government Code, all general
municipal elections held in the city after the effective date of the
ordinance codified in this chapter shall be held on the first Tuesday
following the first Monday in November in each even-numbered year,
consolidating with the statewide general election.

Within thirty days after this chapter becomes effective, the
city clerk shall cause a notice to be mailed to all registered voters
informing the voter of the change in the election date. The notice
shall also inform the voters that as a result of the change in the
election date, elected city office-holders' terms in office will be
extended and no terms shall be decreased.

The provisions of this chapter provide that the election consolidation
be governed by Section 36503.5 of the
Government Code.

This chapter shall take effect thirty days after its final passage
providing it has been approved by the San Joaquin County board of
supervisors.

The city of Manteca follows the state campaign contribution
limit, set by the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC). The
FPPC also is the enforcing agency for campaign contribution limits.
