An Information Technology Department is hereby created which
shall be under the direction of the Information Technology Director,
who shall be appointed by the City Administrator upon approval by
the City Council.

The Information Technology Director, subject to the approval
of the City Administrator, shall organize and maintain such divisions
in the Department as necessary to economically and efficiently carry
out the functions of the Department.

The Information Technology Director shall be responsible for
the supervision and control of all personnel, materials, and equipment
assigned to the Department and for the performance of the functions
of the Department, subject to the supervision of the City Administrator.

The function of the Department is the administration of matters
pertaining to information technology for the City including developing
and maintaining the City's information technology infrastructure to
support City operations and any other functions assigned by the City
Administrator.

In the case of the temporary absence or disability of the Information
Technology Director, a member of the Information Technology Department,
designated by the City Administrator, shall perform the duties and
exercise the powers of the Information Technology Director.
