It will be necessary for each person, company or corporation engaged in the business of surveying within the limits of the City of Mill Valley, for the purpose of perpetuating all monuments that may be established or which may for the purpose of rerunning surveys, be located and uncovered, to place a suitable monument made of indestructible matter, such as a concrete block with a copper spike or rod set therein, the same to take the place of all wood or metal monuments that were originally established by former surveys.

In consideration of such services and the establishment of this type of permanent monuments all parties, companies or corporations engaged in the business of surveying within the limits of the City, will be paid out of the general fund, the sum of $2.00 for each and every monument and the locations thereof, which they shall report to the City Engineer, who will be authorized to endorse their demands after a satisfactory inspection of the above-described monuments.
