Pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes § 4b-77(c) and Milford Zoning Regulations, Article
V, § 5.1.10.9, any new commercial, mixed-use, or residential building or project requiring 30 or more parking spaces shall provide Level 2 or direct-current fast charging stations in the amount of at least 10% of those parking spaces.
The purpose of this Article
VI is to prohibit the installation and operation of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations within underground parking garages within the City of Milford. This measure is taken to address potential safety and infrastructure concerns associated with the installation of such charging stations in underground facilities.
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provision of this Article
VI shall be fined not less than $50 per day for the first 30 days from written offense and not less than $100 per day thereafter until the electric vehicle (EV) charging station has been removed from the underground parking garage. Each electric vehicle (EV) charging station shall constitute a separate offense for which fines may be imposed.
