[Ord. No. 526, 10-16-1972]
Speed limits described in this article which are more than 25 miles per hour shall apply except in those areas where the highways intersect with school crossings or are adjoining school properties. In such cases, the affected segments of such highways shall carry a speed limit of 25 miles per hour during the period of 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after the opening and closing of school, or if flashing school signs are used, then the affected segments will have the speed limit of 25 miles per hour only during the time the flashers are active. All such zones and crosswalks are to be uniformly and standardly marked with the speed of 25 miles per hour designated for this section to apply. This section only applies to the segments of a highway enclosed in the school speed area; it does not apply to the whole highway or to the whole section of highway named in any other sections of this article.
