No race shall be permitted upon the highways or streets of the Town of Brookhaven or upon Town of Brookhaven facilities unless a permit has been obtained from the Town Clerk of the Town of Brookhaven.
All applications for permits issued pursuant to this article shall be in writing, stating the purpose thereof, and shall be signed by the person applying for the permit thereof, or in the case of an organization, signed by an officer of such organization. Such application shall be submitted to the Town Clerk at least 30 days prior to the date such race is to be held.
A. 
Any race held pursuant to a permit issued by the Town Clerk shall only take place upon those highways and parts of highways or public streets that shall be specified in the application submitted to the Town Clerk.
B. 
The Town Clerk may revoke such permit upon the recommendation of the Highway Department of the Town of Brookhaven, the Division of Fire Prevention of the Town of Brookhaven, the Division of Traffic Safety of the Town of Brookhaven, or the Suffolk County Police Department
Any person or entity who conducts or takes part in a race without a permit issued therefor pursuant to this article shall be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $500 or by imprisonment for not less than 15 days nor more than 90 days, or by both.
