PREAMBLE
We, the people of the City of Cranston, in order to secure the rights of self government in local matters afforded by the constitution of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations do adopt and ordain this home-rule Charter establishing for the City of Cranston the "mayor/council" form of government.
