All laws are to be enforced and standard police operating procedures are to be followed. Complaints should be filed in writing for those events not witnessed by the officer.
High-speed chases must be avoided.
Officers should be qualified by the Sheriff's Department.
Compensation time (extra hours) should be taken as soon as possible, not later than two weeks after occurrence.

The Sheriff's Department and State Police shall be notified when coverage is not available during peak times.
The schedule of hours by regular and part-time officers will be based on input from the Board of Trustees. The schedule shall be reviewed regularly.
Accidents involving village officials or vehicles should be handled by other police agencies.
