Whenever any words and phrases are used in this
chapter, the meanings respectively ascribed to them in Subtitle 1
of Title 39 of the New Jersey Statutes Annotated shall be deemed to
apply to such words and phrases used herein.
Whenever certain hours are named in this chapter,
they shall mean either Eastern standard time or Eastern daylight saving
time as may be in current use in the City.
The effectiveness of these regulations is contingent
upon signs being erected as required by law. All signs and related
material shall be installed and maintained by the City of Millville
at its expense. All signage shall conform to the current Manual on
Uniform Traffic Control Devices pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-183.27 and
39:4-198.
All former traffic ordinances of the City of
Millville are hereby repealed, except that this repeal shall not affect
or prevent the prosecution or punishment of any person for any act
committed in violation of any ordinance hereby repealed prior to the
taking effect of this chapter.
If any part or parts of this chapter are held
to be invalid for any reason, such decision shall not affect the validity
of the remaining portions of this chapter.
Unless another penalty is expressly provided
by New Jersey statute, and except as otherwise provided herein, every
person convicted of a violation of any provision of this chapter or
any supplement thereto shall be liable to a penalty of not more than
$50 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 15 days, or both.
