There shall be a Municipal Auditor of the Township, appointed by the Council, who shall be appointed on an annual basis. The Municipal Auditor shall hold an uncanceled license as a registered municipal accountant.
The Municipal Auditor has the general power and duties to:
A. 
Conduct an annual audit of the Township's books, accounts and financial transactions to be made and completed within six months after the close of the Township's fiscal year.
B. 
Advise the Council within three months after the close of the fiscal year whether to petition the Division of Local Government Services for an extension to complete and file the annual audit.
