All existing health-related benefits for permanently
or temporarily disabled employees and their eligible dependents shall
remain in force for a maximum period of one year from the date of
disability, after which all benefits shall cease or become subject
to the provisions of the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation
Act of 1985, known as "COBRA."
Should any disabled employee return to active
duty as an employee of the Borough of Downingtown after the one-year
benefits period has expired, all prior existing benefits shall be
immediately reinstated.
