The Town establishes a Council on Aging for the purpose of coordinating
or carrying out programs designed to meet the problems of the aging in coordination
with programs of the Department of Elder Affairs, all in accord with the Annotated
Laws of Massachusetts c. 40, § 8B.
The Council shall submit an annual report to the Town and shall send
a copy thereof to the Department of Elder Affairs of the Commonwealth.
Said Council shall consist of not less than three (3), nor more than
fifteen (15) members, appointed by the Board of Selectmen from the residents
of the Town.
The Chairman of the Council shall be designated from time to time by
the Board of Selectmen.
Appointees shall hold office until successors are designated.
