Editor's Note: This local law was subject
to a mandatory referendum and was approved by a majority of the qualified
electors at the general election held 11-2-1999.
The purpose of this chapter is to provide for
the orderly and lawful conduct of games in the Town of Galway. It
is adopted pursuant to General Municipal Law § 478 and Municipal
Home Rule Law § 10.
It shall be lawful for any authorized organization,
as defined in § 476 of the General Municipal Law, to conduct
bingo games or to lease or otherwise make available premises for conducting
bingo games upon obtaining a license therefor from the Town Clerk,
subject to the procedures, requirements and restriction set forth
in Article 14-H of the General Municipal Law.
Licenses to conduct bingo games or to lease
premises for conducting bingo games shall be issued by the Town Clerk
pursuant to the application, investigation, hearing and other provisions
of General Municipal Law §§ 480 through 482.
The conduct of bingo games and the lease or
other providing of premises for conducting bingo games shall be subject
to the requirements and restrictions set forth in General Municipal
Law Article 14-H.
