A Municipal Court, to be known as the "Municipal Court of the Township of South Hackensack," is hereby established in and for the Township of South Hackensack, Bergen County, New Jersey, with the jurisdiction, powers and duties conferred by statute and the rules of the Supreme Court of this state.
Said Municipal Court shall have a Judge, who shall be appointed by the Township Committee for a term of three years and until a successor shall have been appointed and qualified. Said Judge shall receive an annual salary to be provided for in the Annual Salary Ordinance and to be paid to him at the same time and in the same manner as other Township officers are now paid.
Said Municipal Court shall be held at the Municipal Building of the Township of South Hackensack and at such other places in the said Township as the Judge may from time to time order.

A. 
The position of Public Defender to serve in the Municipal Court of the Township of South Hackensack is hereby established.
B. 
Such Public Defender shall perform such duties as may be required by law and the Rules of Court, and he or she shall serve in such position under the specific direction and orders of the Township Judge.
C. 
Said Public Defender shall be appointed by the Township Committee annually for a term ending December 31. He or she shall receive a salary in such amount as may be determined and paid by the Annual Salary Ordinance of the Township.
D. 
Any person applying for representation by the said Public Defender shall be required to pay to the Township through the Municipal Court Clerk a fee in the sum of $50 unless the Judge of the Municipal Court shall waive the said fee requirement upon good reason having been shown by the applicant.

A. 
There are hereby established the offices of Township Prosecutor and Alternate Township Prosecutor, each of whom shall be an attorney at law of the State of New Jersey in good standing, each of whom shall be appointed by the Township Committee and each of whom shall serve for a term commencing on the date of appointment and ending on the 31st day of December of each year.
B. 
It shall be the duty of the Township Prosecutor and, in his or her absence, the Alternate Township Prosecutor, to represent the State of New Jersey, the County of Bergen or the Township of South Hackensack in the prosecution of all offenses within the statutory jurisdiction of the Municipal Court of the Township of South Hackensack, all as is more specifically set forth in N.J.S.A. 2B:25-5.
C. 
Said Township Prosecutor shall be compensated by the payment of an annual salary. Said Alternate Township Prosecutor shall be compensated on an hourly basis. The amount and manner of payment of either such compensation shall be as is more specifically provided in the Annual Salary Ordinance.[1]

A. 
The Township Committee shall hire as required by law a Court Administrator who meets and maintains the legal qualifications as set forth in N.J.S.A. 2B:12-11, as may be amended from time to time, and performs the duties as established by said statute, ordered by the Municipal Judge, the Administrative Office of the Courts or other court order.
B. 
The Township Committee shall hire as required by law a Violations Clerk, whose duties shall include serving as an assistant to the Municipal Court Judge and Court Administrator, receiving fines and registering collection of the same upon the books and records of the court, producing court notices and correspondence and doing such other tasks as may be set by statute, court order or direction of the Administrative Office of the Courts.
C. 
Compensation. The Court Administrator and Violations Clerk shall receive for their services such salary or compensation as shall be provided for in the Annual Salary Ordinance.
