A certain document, three copies of which have been and are presently on file in the office of the Township Secretary or the Building and Planning Department of the Township of Lower Merion, being marked and designated as the "International Plumbing Code" published by the International Code Council, has been adopted as the Plumbing Code of the Township of Lower Merion as provided in Chapter
143 hereof, Uniform Construction Code. Each and all of the regulations of the International Plumbing Code, are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this chapter, with the following additions, insertions, deletions and changes.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings
indicated:
SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT
Structures and appurtenances which receive the discharge of a sanitary
drainage system, designed to bring about a reduction in the organic and bacterial
content of the waste so as to render it less offensive or dangerous. Septic
tanks and seepage pits shall be considered as sewage treatment plants.

A. In Section 101.1, Title, insert "Lower Merion Township,"
in the (name of jurisdiction) blank.
B. In Section 106.6.2, Fee schedule, insert "The fees for
all plumbing work shall be as indicated in Chapter A167."
C. In Section 106.6.3, Fee refunds, insert "The Code Official
shall authorize the refunding of fees as follows":

The full amount of any fee paid hereunder that was erroneously paid
or collected.

2.
|
Not more than 80% of the permit fee paid when no work has been done
under a permit issued in accordance with this code.

3.
|
Not more than 80% of the plan review fee paid when an application for
a permit for which a plan review fee has been paid is withdrawn or canceled
before any plan review effort has been expended. The Code Official shall not
authorize the refunding of any fee paid except upon written application filed
by the original permittee not later than 180 days after the date of fee payment.

D. Section 305.6.1 shall provide as follows:

305.6.1, Sewer depth. Building sewers that connect to private sewage
disposal systems shall be a minimum of 36 inches below finished grade at the
point of septic tank connection. Building sewers shall be a minimum of 36
inches below grade.

E. Section 904.1 shall provide as follows:

904.1, Roof extension. All open vent pipes that extend through a roof
shall be terminated at least 12 inches above the roof, except that where a
roof is to be used for any purpose other than weather protection, the vent
extensions shall be run at least seven feet above the roof.
