Under and by virtue of the power and authority
granted to the Township Committee of the Township of Oxford by the
provisions of N.J.S.A. 2B:12-1 et seq., as amended and supplemented,
a Municipal Court is hereby established in the Township of Oxford,
to be known as the “Municipal Court of Oxford Township.”
The said Court shall have an Official Seal,
which shall bear the impress of the name of the Court.
There shall be a Judge of the Municipal Court
of the Township of Oxford, who shall hold office for the term and
who shall be appointed in the manner provided by N.J.S.A. 2B:12-4
and who shall have the qualifications prescribed by N.J.S.A. 2B:12-7.
There shall be a Clerk of the Municipal Court
of the Township of Oxford and such other clerical assistants as, from
time to time hereafter, may be determined necessary by resolution
or ordinance.
The compensation of the Judge and the Clerk
of the Municipal Court and such other personnel as may be required
and appointed by the Township Committee of the Township of Oxford
shall be by annual salaries fixed by the Township Committee by ordinance; provided, however, that the Township Committee may, by
ordinance or resolution, designate any officer or employee of the
Township of Oxford to serve as Clerk and/or Violations Clerk of the
Municipal Court of the Township of Oxford, with or without additional
compensation.
Before entering upon the execution of his office,
the Judge of the Municipal Court of the Township of Oxford shall take
and subscribe the oath prescribed in N.J.S.A. 41:2A-6.
Before entering upon the duties of their respective
offices, the Judge of the Municipal Court of the Township of Oxford
and the Clerk and Violations Clerk thereof shall enter into a bond
to the Township of Oxford, in the County of Warren and the State of
New Jersey, in such amount and with such surety as the Township Committee
may fix, conditioned upon the faithful performance of the respective
duties of such officers.
All administrative matters, fees, costs and
all procedural rules and regulations shall be governed and controlled
by the provisions of appropriate statutes in such case made and provided
by the rules prescribed by the New Jersey Supreme Court governing
the courts of the State of New Jersey and the regulations and directives
of the Administrative Office of the Courts of New Jersey regarding
procedure in Municipal Courts.
The territorial jurisdiction of the Municipal
Court of the Township of Oxford shall be that territory embraced within
the municipal boundaries of the Township of Oxford and any premises
or property situated or located partly within and partly without such
municipality, as provided in N.J.S.A. 2B:12-16, as amended.
The Judge of the Municipal Court of the Township
of Oxford shall have and exercise all of the authority of a Committing
Judge or Magistrate; provided, however, that where a person is charged
with an indictable offense, the Judge of the Municipal Court of the
Township of Oxford, sitting as a Committing Judge, shall not discharge
the person so charged without having first given the Warren County
Prosecutor notice of the charge and an opportunity to be heard in
the case.
The Municipal Court of the Township of Oxford
and the Judge thereof shall have jurisdiction over all of the offenses
set forth in N.J.S.A. 2B:12-17 and 2B:12-18, as amended from time
to time, together with any other matter concerning which jurisdiction
shall, by statute, be conferred upon Municipal Courts of this state.

All requests for discovery in matters pending
in the Oxford Township Municipal Court shall be submitted through
the Municipal Prosecutor.
A. The following fees shall be payable by the requestor
to the Township of Oxford for the discovery provided:
(1) For each of the first 10 pages photocopied: $0.75
per page.
(2) For each of the next 10 pages photocopied: $0.50 per
page.
(3) For each of the pages photocopied thereafter: $0.25
per page.
(4) Actual postage for any discovery sent by mail.
(5) For the envelope for any discovery sent by mail: $0.25.
(6) Photographs will be photographed at the rates established
herein. If requests are made for duplicate photographs, the actual
cost of making the photographs shall be charged.
(7) Duplication of videotapes constitutes an extraordinary
duplication process and will be charged at the rate of $5 per videotape.
B. On any item that cannot be photocopied on the Township
copy machine or which is not otherwise provided for in this schedule,
the actual cost incurred in making the copy shall be charged.
Where the discovery must be obtained from an
entity other than the Township of Oxford, e.g., another police department,
the actual costs paid to the other entity shall be paid by the requestor.
