No person shall keep an animal of a species which is wild, ferocious,
fierce, dangerous or naturally inclined to do harm in any place other
than:
A. A laboratory operated pursuant to § 504 of the Public Health
Law.
B. An establishment of a commercial dealer in animals having protective devices which are adequate to prevent such animals from escaping or injuring the public, or a circus having such protective devices and licensed pursuant to Chapter
240, Article
I, of the Code of the City of Mount Vernon, New York, provided that such establishment or circus furnishes satisfactory evidence to the Commissioner of Public Safety that it employs trained personnel and has and employs protective devices adequate to prevent such wild animals from escaping or injuring the public.
A venomous snake shall not be sold to, given to or kept by any
person.
