The facilities of the Armory shall be available to individuals
and organizations for charitable, educational, cultural and civic
purposes.
No individual or organization shall use the Armory without a
permit issued by the Commissioner of Recreation. This section shall
not apply to events sponsored by the City of Mount Vernon.
Fees for workshops, meetings, etc., based on a weekly or monthly
session, shall be as follows (minimum rental of three hours):
A. For groups interested in renting a meeting room for a once-a-month
meeting: $10 for three hours.
B. For groups interested in space on a more frequent basis, e.g., twice
a week or more than three times a month: $10 for each three-hour session.
C. An additional $10 for each additional hour over three hours.
Organizations or individuals desiring the use of a meeting room one time each month for 12 consecutive months for non-revenue-producing activities may obtain an annual permit from the Commissioner of Recreation, which permit shall be available at a cost of $150 unless the applicant is unable to furnish proof of insurance as required by §
170-19B in which case the fee shall be $200.
The Commissioner of Recreation is authorized to establish rules
and regulations necessary for the efficient operation of the Armory.
Use of alcoholic beverages on the premises is prohibited.
Special rentals may be granted by the Commissioner of Recreation
subject to approval of the City Council.
