For new or original curbing on all streets and public places
of the City, portland cement concrete shall be used.
For new or original sidewalks at all places in the City, portland
cement concrete shall be used.
One or more of the following kinds of materials shall be used
in repaving and in repairing all streets, public places and parking
areas:
A. Reinforced portland cement concrete pavement.
B. Unreinforced portland cement concrete pavement.
C. Asphaltic concrete wearing surface on reinforced portland cement
concrete base.
D. Asphaltic concrete wearing surface on unreinforced portland cement
concrete base.
E. Asphaltic concrete wearing surface on bottom course bituminous macadam
penetration method.
F. Asphaltic concrete wearing surface on existing pavement.
One or more of the following kinds of materials shall be used
in surfacing and resurfacing streets, public places and parking areas
other than new or original pavement of such streets, places or areas:
A. Asphaltic concrete, Type 2A.
B. Bituminous surface treatment on existing pavements.
The City Council shall by ordinance designate both the type
of material that shall be used or the types of material which may
be used and the classification of the street or thoroughfare to be
improved, which designation shall be in accordance with § 75
of the Charter of the City of Mount Vernon, New York.
All of the above work is to be performed in accordance with
the tests and standard construction specifications for like improvements
with like pavements, curbs, sidewalks and materials adopted by the
State of New York, Department of Public Works, on January 2, 1957,
or as the same may hereafter be amended.
