Speed violations. Any person who shall violate a speed restriction imposed by § 189-7 hereof shall, for each and every such violation, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of $35, together with the costs of prosecution, and upon default of the payment of the fine and costs, or as otherwise required by law, shall be sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the county prison for not more than the period permitted by the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code (75 Pa.C.S.A. § 101 et seq.) for such violation; provided, however, that nothing in this subsection shall preclude a police officer from bringing prosecution for any such violation under the applicable provisions of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code, in which event the amount of the fine and costs, or imprisonment in lieu thereof, shall be as provided for in the applicable provisions of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code.
D.
Weight limitations.

Any
person violating any of the provisions of the vehicle weight limit
regulations of the Township based upon the condition of the highway
or bridge shall, for each and every violation, upon conviction thereof,
be sentenced to pay a fine of $150 plus $150 for each 500 pounds,
or part thereof, in excess of 3,000 pounds over the maximum allowable
weight, together with the costs of prosecution, and in default of
payment of the fine and costs shall be sentenced to a term of imprisonment
in the county prison for not more than the period permitted by the
Pennsylvania Vehicle Code (75 Pa.C.S.A. § 101 et seq.) for
such violation.

Any
person violating any of the provisions of the vehicle weight limit
regulations of the Township based upon traffic conditions shall, for
each and every violation, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to
pay a fine of $100, together with the costs of prosecution, and in
default of payment of the fine and costs shall be sentenced to a term
of imprisonment in the county prison for not more than the period
permitted by the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code (75 Pa.C.S.A. § 101
et seq.) for such violation.
E.
Blanket penalty. Unless another penalty is expressly
provided by the Vehicle Code or except as herein specified, every
person convicted of a violation of a provision of this chapter, or
any supplement thereto, shall be liable to a penalty of $25 and costs
of prosecution.
F.
All fines paid and collected for violations of the
provisions of this chapter shall be payable to East Whiteland Township.
