Editor's Note: This local law provided that it shall take effect on January 2, 2010, subject to acceptance and filing by the Secretary of State.
There shall be paid an annual salary to the Mayor, each member of the Board of Trustees, and the Village Justice in amounts to be fixed from time to time by resolution of the Board of Trustees, provided that the annual salary of the Village Justice shall not be reduced during the term of said Justice. Said annual salaries shall be paid in equal weekly installments.

No person who is elected to the position of Trustee, Village Justice or Mayor, or who is a part-time Village official, or who has served in such positions in the Village of Amityville, including such persons who may be receiving such compensation on the effective date hereof, shall receive any compensation or benefit from the Village for health care, or health care insurance, including but not limited to medical, dental and optical coverage for themselves or any member of their family.

The terms of office of the Mayor, all members of the Board of Trustees, and the Village Justice shall be four years. General Village elections shall be held biannually in the odd-numbered years.

A. 
No person who is elected to the Office of Mayor in the Village of Amityville after the effective date of this section shall serve for more than two consecutive four-year terms.
B. 
No person who is elected as a Trustee of the Village of Amityville after the effective date of this section shall serve as a Trustee for more than two consecutive four-year terms.
