No antenna or satellite dish for the transmission
or reception of electronic signals shall be constructed, altered or
enlarged in the Village of Maple Bluff after April 12, 1995, unless
the antenna or satellite dish is constructed as part of or affixed
to the main structure on the lot in such manner as not to extend over
any required front, side or rear yard. No antenna shall extend more
than five feet above the highest ridgeline of that portion of the
main building of which it is part or to which it is affixed. No satellite
dish greater than 24 inches in diameter shall be permitted, nor shall
any satellite dish extend above the ridgeline of that portion of the
main building of which it is part or to which it is affixed. However,
when attachment of the antenna or satellite dish to the main structure
renders such antenna or satellite dish nonfunctional, the Building
Inspector may permit an alternate location. The Building Inspector
shall make a determination that the antenna or satellite dish, when
constructed, altered, or enlarged, will not be unreasonably detrimental
to the neighboring properties or the Village in terms of appearance,
materials, design or location. If the Building Inspector does not
so certify, the Building Board shall serve as the final review and
determining body.
