The Borough of Baldwin shall become a participant in the social
security system and the benefits of old-age and survivors' insurance
shall be extended to its employees and officers.
The President of Council, the Borough Secretary and the Mayor
of the Borough of Baldwin, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Allegheny
County, are authorized to execute and deliver to the Secretary of
Labor and Industry of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the state
agency charged with the administration of the enabling act, the plan
and agreement required under the provisions of Section 6 of said enabling
act and the Social Security Act, to extend coverage to the
employees and officers of this Borough and to do all other things
necessary to that end.
The Borough Secretary and the Borough Treasurer be and they
are hereby authorized and directed to make all required payments into
the contribution fund established by Section 7 of said enabling act, and they are further authorized and directed to establish
such a system of payroll deductions from salaries of officers and
employees as may be necessary to their coverage under said old age
and survivors insurance system.
Appropriation is hereby made from the proper fund or funds of
the Borough of Baldwin, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, in the necessary
amount to pay into the contribution fund as provided in Section 4
of the enabling act, and in accordance with the plan or plans and agreement.
The proper officials of the Borough of Baldwin do all things
necessary in accordance with the provisions contained in the plan
and agreement necessary to the continued implementation of said old-age
and survivors' insurance system.
The Borough of Baldwin, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, shall
become a participant in the social security system, and such participation
shall commence as of January 1, 1952.
