Editor's Note: The local law constituting this article was approved by the voters of the Town of Pleasant Valley at a referendum held 11-8-1977.
Pursuant to Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law, the Town hereby authorizes the conduct of games of chance by authorized organizations, as described in § 186, Subdivision 4, of the General Municipal Law, upon any such organization's obtaining a license therefor, as provided in Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law. Applications for such license shall be made to the Town Clerk with required fees as prescribed by the Town Board.
The restrictions upon the conduct of games of chance as provided in General Municipal Law § 189 shall apply.
The unauthorized conduct of a game of chance and any willful violation of any provision of this article shall constitute and be punishable as a misdemeanor. The powers and duties as provided in Subdivision 1 of § 194 of the General Municipal Law shall be exercised by the Dutchess County Sheriff or any other law enforcement agency or person designated by the Town.
The adoption of this article was subject to a mandatory referendum.
The Town Board may from time to time adopt rules and regulations to administer this article, including but not limited to the imposition of fees as provided in said Article 9-A.

It shall be lawful for any authorized organization, upon obtaining a license, to conduct the game of bingo within the territorial limits of the Town. Applications for such license shall be made to the Town Clerk with required fees as prescribed by the Town Board.
The restrictions upon the conduct of bingo, as provided in General Municipal Law § 479, shall apply.
The unauthorized conduct of a bingo game and any willful violation of any provision of this article shall constitute and be punishable as a misdemeanor. In addition, upon conviction, the license holder shall forfeit its license and shall be ineligible to apply for another license for one year thereafter. The powers and duties as provided in Subdivision 1 of § 484 of the General Municipal Law shall be exercised by the Dutchess County Sheriff or any other law enforcement agency or person designated by the Town.
A licensee may hold, operate and conduct bingo on Sunday, provided that the license issued permits the same.
