The Barrington Conservation Commission, existing
as an advisory commission under the authority of the Town Council,
pursuant to the Barrington Town Charter, §11-1-1, shall function
as the Tree Commission.
A.
The Town of Barrington Tree Commission shall assist
the Tree Warden in the following areas:
(1)
Regulating and enacting the maintenance, removal and
planting of trees within the public rights-of-way to ensure public
safety.
(2)
Preserving the aesthetics of the public right-of-way
with regard to trees.
(3)
Protecting the value and health of Barrington trees
as a whole.
(4)
Making recommendations for the regulation of the cultivation,
planting, maintenance and preservation of trees and all forestry functions,
including the planting, care and removal of trees within the jurisdiction
of the Town of Barrington.
B.
The Tree Commission shall communicate and work with
civic and public interest groups concerned with tree care, management,
preservation and planting.
