Tours of duty, time of reporting, special assignments, changes of assignment and all details in connection with the time and circumstances of duties shall be as directed by the Chief and as provided in the rules and regulations.
Unless otherwise ordered by the Township Manager, the day tour of duty in the Department shall extend from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and the night tour from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Members of the Department may be assigned to duty and reassigned to other duty as the best interest of the Department may require.
In the absence from duty of an officer in charge of any command, the Chief may designate a qualified member of the Department to act in the place of such officer.
Members of the Department shall normally be used in the regular service; provided, however, that the Chief, whenever in his or her opinion the public welfare requires it, may detail any member of the Department for any special or particular duty connected with the fire service of the township.
All members of the Department, while off duty, shall be subject to recall to duty in times of emergency by direction of the Chief.
Members of the Department shall devote their time to the business of the Department. They are prohibited from being employed in or giving their attention to any other business, except with the express consent of the Township Manager.
