No person shall use or shall cause, suffer or
permit the use in any building within the Township of any fuel-burning
appliance using liquid fuel having a flash point at or below 70°
F., such as gasoline, naphtha, ether, ethyl alcohol or methyl alcohol.
No person shall use or shall cause, suffer or
permit the use in any building within the Township of any fuel-burning
appliance using liquid fuel having a flash point above 70° F.,
such as kerosene and fuel oil, other than central heating systems
permanently affixed to the building, unless such appliances comply
with the following requirements:
A. Even such appliance shall be securely affixed to the
floor.
B. Every such appliance shall rest on sheet metal, asbestos
or other equally noncombustible material of a thickness of at least
3/8 of an inch, which shall extend at least six inches outward from
all sides of such appliance.
C. Every such appliance shall not be placed any nearer
than 12 inches to any wooden partition or other combustible material.
D. Every such appliance shall be connected by a smoke
pipe to a permanent chimney flue in compliance with the terms and
provisions of the Building Code of the Township governing installation of smoke pipes
to chimney flues.
