As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
BAY AREAS
The land lying between the waters of Far Rockaway Bay and the northerly lines of Granada Street through Acapulco Street (formerly First Street through Seventh Street), The Plaza, Albany Boulevard, Dutchess Boulevard, Genesee Boulevard, Jefferson Boulevard, Montgomery Boulevard, Putnam Boulevard, Suffolk Boulevard and Vernon Avenue, as said streets are laid out on the maps referred to in the definition of "beach areas."

BEACH AREAS
Those portions of the beach along the Atlantic Ocean located generally south of Vernon Avenue, Putnam Boulevard, Montgomery Boulevard, Jefferson Boulevard, Genesee Boulevard, Dutchess Boulevard, The Plaza, Lot Nos. 5 through 9 in Block 27, Lot. Nos. 6 through 10, 13, 14, and 19 through 22 in Block 24, and designated as "Beach Areas A through I" on two certain maps marked "Maps A and B," each entitled "Amended Map of Atlantic Beach, New York," filed in the Nassau County Clerk's office on June 21, 1941, under File Nos. 4177 and 4178.
BEACH CLUB OR CABANA CLUB
A facility formed, organized or operated by any person, firm or corporation, located on or contiguous to an ocean beach, permitting sunbathing, swimming and other allied recreation activities, including such uses operated by a hotel, cooperative complex or other entity.
BEACH TAG
The identification symbol, card or device issued to residents and not previously revoked by the incorporated Village of Atlantic Beach and for the purpose of affording access to the beach areas, boardwalk or bay areas during the calendar year within which same is issued.
BOARDWALK
A. 
The wooden boardwalk structure lying south of Block Nos. 27, 28, 29, 30, 31 and 32 and south of the southerly lines of the Plaza, Dutchess Boulevard, Genesee Boulevard, Jefferson Boulevard, Montgomery Boulevard, Putnam Boulevard and Vernon Avenue, as shown on the maps referred to in the definition of "beach areas" above, and the ramps leading thereto.
B. 
The boardwalk on the northerly portion of the beach along the Atlantic Ocean at the easterly and westerly prolongations thereof.
CABANA
A structure, or separate part of a structure, rented or assigned to one or more persons for the purpose of permitting such person or persons privacy in changing from street clothes into swimming or recreational attire, facilitating sunbathing, swimming or other allied recreational activities and for the storage of recreational furniture, equipment and clothing.
CABANA COURT
A group or arrangement of two or more cabanas or lockers, or a combination thereof, as the case may be.
FAR ROCKAWAY BAY
The water north of the land shown on the maps referred to in the definition of "beach areas" above, and shall include the waterways known as "Reynolds Channel" and "East Rockaway Inlet."
GATEMAN
Any person employed by the Village of Atlantic Beach for the purpose of controlling access to beach areas, boardwalk or bay areas.
GATES
The entrance in the fence which restricts access to all beach areas and/or boardwalks from the public highway or streets, as shown on the maps referred to in the definition of "beach area" above.
GUEST
Any person accompanied or identified as such by a resident.
JETTIES
Any stone groins constructed by municipal or governmental authority extending into the waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
LIFE GUARD
Any person employed by the Village of Atlantic Beach for the purpose of safeguarding or regulating persons using beach areas or bay areas and waters adjacent thereto.
LOCKER
A structure or separate part of a structure similar to a cabana, as above defined, but smaller in size.
OWNER, GRANTEE, SUCCESSOR OR ASSIGN
Any individual, firm, partnership or corporation.
RESIDENT
A person who is the record owner or lessee of a dwelling unit in improved real property within the Village of Atlantic Beach, the spouse, children, parents or household servants of such owner or lessee if they are residents of the same household. For the purpose of this chapter, "resident" shall include the record owner of a legal-size unimproved building plot and the spouse and children of such record owner.
WATERS OF THE ATLANTIC OCEAN
That portion of the Atlantic Ocean lying south of the upland of the Village of Atlantic Beach between the easterly and westerly corporate limits of the Village of Atlantic Beach and the southerly prolongation thereof.
