PWSF Board. Pursuant to the New York State Village Law, a PWSF Board is created for the purpose of reviewing PWSF applications for a special use permit. The duties and procedures of the PWSF Board shall be governed by the New York State Village Law, except that the duties of the PWSF Board shall be limited to those functions set forth in the PWSF provisions of Chapter 139, Zoning, of the Code.[1]
The number of PWSF Board members shall be seven, with
three permanent members consisting of the Village Attorney, the Comptroller
and the Village Assessor.
Four special members shall be appointed annually by the
Mayor of the Village and approved by a majority vote of the Village of Hempstead
Board of Trustees. Such special members may be members of the Village of Hempstead
staff and/or members of the Hempstead community, as determined by the Mayor.
