The Mayor may, subject to the approval of the
Board of Trustees, appoint an attorney as Village Attorney for a term
not more than one year. The Mayor also may, subject to the approval
of the Board of Trustees, and from time to time as necessity requires,
employ an attorney other than the Village Attorney to perform any
special service for the Village.
In addition to the above, the Mayor may, subject
to the approval of the Board of Trustees, employ a firm or firms of
attorneys to perform the legal services of the Village Attorney.
The compensation paid to the Village Attorney,
the services to be provided, the terms of employment and all other
terms and conditions of employment shall be set forth in a written
agreement between the Attorney or firm of attorneys and the Board
of Trustees.
