Article I Heritage Commission

§ 27-1 Statutory authority; establishment.

Pursuant to RSA 673:4-a, I and II only, RSA 674:44-a, RSA 674:44-b, I, II, and III, and RSA 674:44-d the Town Council of Derry ordains to establish a Heritage Commission.

§ 27-2 Membership; powers and duties; appointment; terms of office.

Said Commission shall consist of five members who shall have the powers and duties of both the Heritage Commission and a Historic District Commission. The Commission shall consist of at least four regular members who shall be appointed by the Council for three-year terms which shall be staggered so that no more than two members' terms will expire in a single year. There shall be three alternate members who shall be appointed by Council for three-year terms which shall be staggered so that no more than one member's term will expire in a single year. Vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired term.
