The office of Township Manager is hereby created by the Township
of West Brandywine.
The Manager shall be appointed for an indefinite term by a majority
of all members of the Board. The Manager shall serve at the pleasure
of the Board and may be removed from office at any time by a majority
vote of its members.
The Manager shall be chosen on the basis of executive/administrative
abilities and personal qualities associated with the duties of the
office as herein outlined.
The Manager shall give a bond in an amount fixed by the Board
by ordinance to the Township of West Brandywine as surety. This bond
shall be conditioned upon honest and faithful performance of his duties.
The bond will be obtained from a reputable firm and the premium for
said surety shall be paid by the Township of West Brandywine. The
initial bond shall be in the sum as set forth by resolution of the
Board of Supervisors.
The salary of the Township Manager shall be set at the time
of his/her employment and may be adjusted from time to time by resolution
duly adopted by the Board.
If the Manager is unavailable or unable to perform the duties
delegated hereunder, he/she shall designate one qualified member of
his staff to perform the duties of the Manager in his/her absence
or disability. The person so designated shall not perform said duties
for a period longer than two weeks without approval of the Board.
All powers, duties or responsibilities delegated to the Township
Manager by this chapter shall be subject to recall by action of the
Board at any time without the necessity of amending or revoking all
or any portion of this chapter.
