Section 7-136 of the General Statutes of Connecticut,
as revised to January 1, 2005, is hereby accepted and adopted.

The Commission shall consist of five members
appointed by the Board of Selectmen. All members shall be electors
of the Town of Griswold. The original members shall be appointed for
the following terms: two for two years and three for three years,
and thereafter, upon the expiration of such original terms, each new
appointment shall be for a term of five years. The Selectmen shall
fill any vacancy by appointment for the unexpired portion of the term
then becoming vacant.
Any member may be removed by the Selectmen for
cause and, on request of such member, after public hearing at which
he shall be provided reasonable opportunity to be heard in his own
defense.

Said Commission shall elect a Chairman, Vice
Chairman and Secretary from among its members, for such terms as the
Commission shall designate, to hold such office until a successor
shall have been elected and qualified. The Commission shall have the
power to make rules and regulations for the transaction of its business
and shall keep a record of all votes and of the proceedings of its
meetings. The Chairman and/or Vice Chairman shall have the responsibility
to provide information to the media.

The Economic Development Commission shall submit
an audited financial report to the Town's Board of Finance at the
time of the annual audit. The Commission's audited financial report
shall indicate and itemize all income and revenues received from any
source, be it federal, state or Town, including but not limited to
moneys, grants, real estate, gifts or in-kind services. Further, said
audited financial report shall indicate and itemize all expenditures
of said Commission and state whether the same were paid by cash or
check.

The Commission shall annually prepare and transmit
to the legislative body of its municipality a report of its activities
and of its recommendations for improving such economic conditions
and development.

No member of the Commission shall receive compensation
except for his necessary expenses incurred in the performance of his
official duties.

Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to
authorize or empower the Commission to expend funds other than within
the appropriation made to it pursuant to law or funds derived from
gifts, grants or other sources made available for its use for the
purposes prescribed by statute.
