The provisions of Chapter 126 (Planning) of the General Statutes of
the State of Connecticut (Revision of 1958), as amended, are hereby adopted
by the Town of Griswold.
There shall be a Planning Commission of the Town of Griswold to consist
of five members who shall be electors of the Town of Griswold.
The initial membership of the Commission shall be appointed by the Selectmen
of the Town of Griswold so that the terms of office of two of its members
shall expire on the date of the biennial election for the Town of Griswold
in November 1969, and the terms of office of two of its members shall expire
on the date of the biennial election for the Town of Griswold in November
1971, and the term of office for the remaining member shall expire on the
date of the biennial election for the Town of Griswold in November 1973. Thereafter,
as the term of each member of the Planning Commission expires, the
successor or successors shall be elected at the biennial election of the Town
of Griswold to serve for a term of six years.
In the event that any member of the Planning Commission shall cease
to be a resident of the Town of Griswold, his office shall be deemed vacant.
The provisions of Chapter
124 (Zoning) of the General Statutes of the State of Connecticut (Revision of 1958), as amended, are hereby adopted by the Town of Griswold.
In accordance with Section 8-4A of the Connecticut General Statutes, the five-member Planning Commission and its three alternate members shall be designated as the "Planning and Zoning Commission of the Town of Griswold." The terms of office shall be in accordance with Article
I of this chapter.
