City Council shall maintain a standing committee to be known as the
"Committee for the Preservation of Open Space in the City of Egg Harbor City."
Said Committee shall consist of one member of City Council to be selected
by the President of the City Council and shall further consist of members
of the public to be appointed by members of City Council.
All said members for said Committee shall be appointed at each reorganization
session of City Council, being the first session of City Council to occur
each and every year.
Said Committee for the Preservation of Open Space shall remain in existence
until City Council shall determine that such a need for a Committee is no
longer needed and City Council intends to terminate said Committee. City Council
shall notify all members of the Committee of the cessation of activities,
which is to occur no sooner than three years from the date of notification
to Committee members.
The purpose of said Committee for the Preservation of Open Space shall
be to identify and locate within the boundaries of the City of Egg Harbor
City and to create a management plan for the care and use of property for
the benefit of the citizens of the City of Egg Harbor City. Further, said
Committee shall identify and attempt to obtain grants from either county,
state or federal government programs for the purpose of continuing activities
consistent with the preservation of open spaces within the City of Egg Harbor
City.
