Attend all meetings of the Common Council, serve as
Clerk of the Common Council and perform such other duties of a similar
nature as shall be required by that body.
Give notice of Common Council meetings to its members,
publish all legal notices and all adopted resolutions, ordinances
and local laws as may be required by law.
Receive, file, index and be the custodian of all City
documents and records and other instruments required by law to be
filed with the City, including petitions for nomination and such other
papers pertaining to the election of officials as are required to
be filed with the City by law.
Administer the issuance of all licenses and permits
issued by the City as provided by ordinance or law and as otherwise
provided by this Charter. The Clerk shall issue no license or permit
until evidence is presented that all approvals, if any, required by
this Charter or any other law or ordinance have been obtained. The
Clerk shall receive for the City all fees prescribed for licenses
or permits and shall make weekly deposit of such funds with the Controller.
