order or in need of repair, notice thereof shall be given the inspector.
Another meter shall then be installed during the time required for
testing and repair. Where repairs are found necessary, the same shall
be made at the district's expense. When, in the opinion of the inspector,
a meter becomes unsuitable for further use, it shall be replaced by
another at the district's expense. Any meter greater than 3/4 inch
deemed necessary for replacement by the Superintendent of Water and
Sewer will be replaced at the owner's expense. Where any meter shall
be damaged, it shall be repaired or replaced by the district, and
the cost of repair or replacement shall be charged to the property
owner.
B. Where the Town requires that any meter be changed, modified, upgraded
or otherwise altered and the Town or the Town's contractor or other
designee provides notice to the property owner that access is required
to the property to make said changes, modifications or alterations,
and the property owner fails to provide access within the time set
forth in the notice, the Town shall assess a fine, surcharge or penalty
to the property owner for the failure to provide access. Said fine,
surcharge or penalty shall be the sum of $25.
