The Board of Trustees of the Village of Naples hereby finds that it is necessary for the promotion of the safety, health, welfare and protection of its employees, its property and persons present thereon to prohibit the possession of firearms and other dangerous weapons and instruments by persons entering into and being present in buildings owned by the Village of Naples.
It shall be unlawful for any person to possess, either openly or concealed, any firearm, machine gun, shotgun, switchblade knife, gravity knife, rifle, cane sword, chuka stick, kung-fu star or electronic stun gun, as these terms are defined by § 265.00 of the Penal Law or any act in amendment thereof, or any other dangerous or deadly weapon or instrument of any description, including but not limited to explosive devices or substances, lethal or debilitating chemicals or gas, pellet gun or air rifle, dangerous knife, dagger, dirk, razor, stiletto or imitation pistol, while entering into or while being present in any building owned by the Village of Naples.
This chapter shall not apply to any authorized peace officer or police officer as defined by the Criminal Procedure Law or to any other authorized official of any local, state or federal government.

A violation of this chapter shall be punishable by a term of imprisonment not to exceed 15 days and a fine not to exceed $250, or both.
