To be eligible to appointment as Building Inspector,
the candidate for the position shall have had experience as an architect,
structural engineer, carpenter, mason or superintendent of building
construction.
The Building Inspector may request and shall
receive, so far as may be necessary in the discharge of his duties,
the assistance and cooperation of other officials of the municipality.
The Building Inspector, in the discharge of
his duties and upon proper identification, shall have the authority
to enter any building, structure or premises at any reasonable hour.
The Inspector shall issue a receipt for all
funds received, which funds shall be deposited monthly with the Borough
Treasurer.
There is hereby created the office of Deputy
Building Inspector, which shall be filled by the Borough Clerk and
who shall have the power to issue building permits only in connection
with applications which do not require the submission and approval
of plans and specifications. The salaries of the Building Inspector,
the Deputy Building Inspector and Assistant Building Inspector shall
be determined annually by the Mayor and Council.
