The owner, occupant or lessee of each and every residential unit, building,
business or commercial unit which now fronts or may hereafter front upon any
of the public streets of the Borough shall cause the proper number of such
residential unit, building, business or commercial unit to be placed in figures
at least two inches in height in some conspicuous place on the front part
of such building so as to be plainly visible from the sidewalks of the street
on which such house or building may front.

The owner of each and every rooming house or boardinghouse within the
Borough of South River, in addition to numbering the building as set forth
above, shall number each and every apartment and/or room in said building
as set forth above.
In case of any difficulty or doubt concerning the proper number of any
lot, house or building in the Borough, the owner, occupant or lessee or any
person interested may apply to the Engineer of the Borough in order that the
question may be determined, and the order and decision of such Engineer shall
be final and conclusive.
It shall be the duty of such committee of Borough Council as may be
appointed for the purpose, to see that the provisions of this chapter are
properly carried into effect.

Any person, persons or corporation violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be subject to the penalties in Chapter
1, Article
I, General Penalty.
