A Municipal Court for the Township of West Amwell is hereby established as of the effective date of this article,[1] pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 2B:12-1 et seq.

The name of the Municipal Court shall be "Municipal Court of the Township of West Amwell."
The Municipal Court shall have a Seal which shall bear the impression of the name of the Court.
There shall be a Municipal Judge of the Municipal Court who shall be appointed by the Township Committee and who shall serve for a term of three years from the date of his appointment and until his successor is appointed and qualified. His annual compensation shall be fixed and determined by ordinance adopted by the Township Committee.[1] Said salary shall be in lieu of any and all other fees.

Said Municipal Court and the Municipal Judge thereof shall have, possess and exercise all of the functions, powers, duties and jurisdiction conferred by the provisions of N.J.S.A. 2B:12-1 et seq., as amended and supplemented.
There shall be an Administrator of the Municipal Court who shall be appointed by the Township Committee. The Administrator shall serve for a term of one year from the date of his or her appointment and until his or her successor has been appointed and qualified. The annual compensation of the Municipal Court Administrator shall be fixed and determined by ordinance adopted by the Township Committee.[1] Said Administrator shall perform such functions and duties as shall be prescribed for said Administrator by law, the rules applicable to Municipal Courts and by the Municipal Judge.

There shall be a Deputy Administrator of the Municipal Court who shall be appointed by the Township Committee to serve in the absence of the Municipal Court Administrator. The Deputy Administrator shall serve for a term of one year from the date of his or her appointment and until his or her successor has been appointed and qualified. The annual compensation of the Deputy Administrator shall be fixed and determined by ordinance adopted by the Township Committee.[1] Said Deputy Administrator shall perform such functions and duties as shall be prescribed for said Deputy Administrator by law, the rules applicable to Municipal Courts and by the Municipal Judge.

The Municipal Court shall be held in the Municipal Building in the Township of West Amwell, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. The Municipal Judge shall sit at such times as he deems proper and necessary to perform the business of the Court and for the effective administration of justice in the Township of West Amwell and subject to the rules and statutes applicable to Municipal Courts.
